News item:

June 13, 2005 - - - The Senate today passed a resolution apologizing for its failure on repeated occasions to pass anti-lynching legislation.

So the United States Senate has passed a resolution apologizing for its refusal to pass anti-lynching legislation. Even in doing the right thing a hundred years late, our illustrious leaders couldn't resist being a pack of weasels by allowing pro-lynching senators to hide behind a voice vote. Although the pro-lynching senators have managed with the connivance of their leadership to remain anonymous, it's a pretty safe bet that they are among the sanctimonious phonies who love to blather about God, morals, and family values. It is this kind of profile in courage that has made our politicians such an admired and respected class of people.
